Here are the best pictures I can get. They are really hard to get nice. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Looks right as rain to me. The second dot in Vdb is correctly in the middle, the N in United is shallow. The mint mark is the right shape and looks like a match for mint mark position 3. Every thing looks right on the coin,

I can't see anything to say it is fake, but there are a lot more fakes than real unslabbed.

Thank you all for taking a look. I had posted it on a different forum and some were calling it a fake without saying what they were seeing to call it that. I think there may have been jealousy in the fact that I picked it up in a pawn shop for only $20! Now I need to figure out what I need to do to get it graded.

Nice score!! That's a real expensive coin, wow. I would highly suggest getting it graded by PCGS or NGC and keep us informed! I would love to see how it turns out!

You need to find a trustworthy coin dealer or a trustworthy coin collector to submitt it to PCGS or NGC for grading and slabbing for you. Approximate costs will be $50 to $75 for their service, shipping & handling, insurance.

All of the markers seemed to be there. My only question was position of mint mark, which was hard to determine because of tilt of photos. NICE!!

Not hard to rotate. I rotated it and overlaid it on on the MM position picture. It appeared a perfect fir for #3.

Yeah, sorry for the angle, I took a ton of pictures but it was hard to get all the details with a straight on photo.

Small pics, try cropping them next time, more background that pictures.

Surprisingly, it looks to be genuine as best I can tell from the given pics. A close-up of the date/MM would be of great help. The easiest diagnostic is to look for a small die chip in the upper loop of the S. This is easily seen on AU and up examples.

Also, the VDB should be fairly strong and dots present after each letter.....although there a some with a weak VDB but those are fairly rare. Almost all these have a strong VDB. I've seen quite a few added MM types with some of the dots missing, which happened fairly often on the P issues.

Congrats on the score of a lifetime for $20. How did you manage to get that price on such a well-known, valuable coin?

Great find and especially for that price....
Based on the photos, what grade is everyone thinking?

maybe 63. I don't see much luster, but that could be the pictures.
