:headbang: :headbang: Well, the mint keeps pushing my order for the 2006W ASE back one day at a time. Now status is still being processed with a ship date of March 12. I've seen it slip one day at a time now for over a month and it will be over 3 months since I ordered. It doesn't look good I'm afraid. Which means I got bumped for the anniversary set and now this coin. GRRRRRRR>..!!! What really ticks me off is that if I had known that my order would not be filled I would have gone to the secondary market very quickly instead of waiting. Now everything is X2 or X3 or even X4 the issue price.
Honestly, that is BS to have to wait this long. I seriously feel bad for you. Keep thinking positive is all I can say.
Guys/girls from a reliable source I was told that All the 2006w silver eagles have all been shipped. The only ones that may remain are those problem orders, expired credit card ect. Seems they were oversold by a substantial amount I ordered mine on 12/8 and it does not look like I will be getting mine. Yes it tuff watching them steadily go up . I could have ordered some from littleton for $28.50 when they made a listing mistake on their web site. thought I was going to get them from the mint so I did not order any (big mistake) Hope the mint is not going to be like the guys on tv selling you coins. You know "better be on the phone right now if you want to get them". Heck they may rip you off but you will get it. Hopefully the mint is working on this oversight and problems like this will not occur in the future. Time will tell but with the ambitious program they have this year I am afraid this is not the last we have seen on this . Hate to be the bearer of bad news but that is just the way it is. good luck
In my "heart of hearts", I know I am dead in the water bama...Seems like the "T.V." guys get all the coins they need regardless of mint buying limits and the backorder status hurdles us common folk have to contend with. Oh well, if I live long enough, I'll try again for the 30th anniversary offerings...:thumb:
Hang in there I ordered mine on Nov 21 last year got mine last week so if you ordered it before the cut off you will get it just wait it will come. Bruce.
Have a question. I received a strange computer generated email from the mint today concering my 2006w silver eagle order. What is strange about it is this notice does not tell me anything. All it does is show is the same information that i can get by going to the mint cataloge page and pluging my order information in . I fully expected to get a "sorry Charlie" letter from them but this semi spam does not tell me anything. Nothing Is this normal. Simply put , what purpose does it serve. Thanks
Same here bama guy. It appeared as though there was supposed to be something included in the message above the notification but it was blank. Just had my name, order number, backorder status and expected shipping date. Was confused here as well.....
2006 w cancelled by the mint after waiting and waiting so long. finally the mint cancelled by order for the 2006 w unc $5.00 gold piece.
Conspiracy Theory You have to wonder about the mints actions in this situation. As soon as they closed sales for these coins the mint could calculate how many they oversold by. They could have then immediately notified those buyers that their orders would not be filled. I feel bad for all of those that go through this - it is customer service at it's worst and potentially a PR nightmare!
Maybe because of the second order (which I am assuming you made towards the end of open orders) they held both? My order for both ASE and ASE Unc was placed on 11/27 and now I have received both.
