Hello all, I am selling rolls of wheat pennies with various dates and grades. It is my first time selling any coins on ebay. I just created the ebay account and listed 10 auctions. My plan is to sell a roll of 50 and plus giving 5 more extra wheats as a good gesture. Here is a link to one auction. Can anyone give me any pointers that or information I should add to buyers? EDITED: FORUM RULES. Feel free to post link in for sale section. Thank you in advance, Luke
Do free shipping. Ebay bumps up search standing, etc. If you only charge $1.50 to ship, just raise the starting bid by that much.
It was just the link that was the issue. I know you were asking for a critique of your auction but we only allow links to an individual members auction to be posted in the "Auction Listings" section.
Disclose whatever is wrong with any item. Now you're selling rolls so say most have some verdigris, crud, or whatever. Ask yourself: "If I bought this item, might I be disappointed and possibly leave a negative?"
My advice is that you may be selling the first few lots at a potential loss to get buyers to bite. It can be difficult especially if you have no feedback and buyers would be a bit more weary. Just make sure you try with lower end stuff and take good photos and write good description. And then gradually work your way towards selling higher end items. Always put yourself in the shoes of a buyer and you'll be fine.
