Just picked this up at a pretty good price...I know the photos aren't up to MY standards, but they're the best I can do at my "field" location...

It weighs correctly and is non-magnetic. There is a bit of dirt on the obverse that I won't touch for now...

Looks great. I have one from the 1930's, and they are a really nice coin.

Love this design, 1899 was the first one I bought too. Cool pick up.

Cool. I've been searching for one 50 or lower. Pretty hard as I'm sure you know. How much for that one?

From what I see, this is a $75 coin on eBay. I paid much less than that ;)

B.I.N. at $125 with best offer, shouldn't have any problems getting at least $100 without having to relist. :woot:

Ha ha...so Numismat, you were right. Listed the coin on eBay for $125 BIN/BO...and it sold for $100.

    ...wait for it...

...and I can't find it. Been moving into a new apartment, thought I had that coin in my "eBay items" box...nope. Had to cancel the transaction with a sincere apology. Let's hope I find it, along with a few other coins from that day (the same day I lost my SD card...) Maybe they'll all be in one magical hiding place...

(rolling my eyes at a level of disorganization I am uncomfortable with. Let this move be completed!)

Just got home...and FOUND IT!!! For some reason put it in a separate box "to be worked." Also found all the rest of the coins I bought that day (no SD card, lol.)

Phew! That's a load off my mind.

Someone is selling two ngc ms61 trade dollars for 2 hundred (ie for each one). What a rip if you ask me. I checked the year and an unc is 70 or 80.

I feel like this is an example of where the price guide is wrong. Mine just sold for $100...last one I had sold for $75, and it was fed circulated.

The thing with ebay is patience pay off. Some coins, like this series, you can get a lot more money with BIN listings if you don't mind the wait. This is also why researching prices in completed items can be confusing.

so you're saying 200 is probably correct for an ms61? I don't think the guide is that much off (by 130 or something). I know Krause is off in a lot of cases but on this one I don't know. I only buy within the US so that my be the first problem
