1972D Lincoln Cent DDO ??

    I have 1972D Lincoln penny, it looks like there is some doubling. And some clash..so do I have some thing here?

    minor misaligned die. very common. good eye though! keep looking!

    Here's another @ 12:00 both obverse (slight) and reverse (better)

    As for the date, that effect is also very common. Probably grease filled element in the die. They were really churnin em out and needed to keep it lubed!

    Also there looks like there lettering goiing through in god we trust. Maybe just my eyes

    Hopefully Mike Diamond will show up, I still think its a collar clash, if you look at post 11, the misaligned die also shows on the bottom of the obverse ( smaller rim on the bottom, then the top ) your, both sides of the rim, ( side to side ) are the same.

    I'm just seeing more evidence of grease around the outer edge along the rim, and some dirt around IGWT that might be messing with you a little.

    So is the misalignment a coin error or variety.? Does this error have any value?

    Oh Jeez!

    Can you people NOT see this because you're so transfixed on the rim???

    While it does not appear to be die doubling I can see where a newbie would think so.

    Yes I am a total newbie at this cherry pickin thing. But wat r u showing me here?? I do not get wat yu r trying to show me here... I see wats going on with the rim. Sorry do not under stand
