    Shipping is $19.99
So if you win these items for .01, you overpaid

Looks like they are just trying to find a sucker. Wonder what they plan on shipping it in for that price.

Maybe a envelope made of an ounce of silver

They have a whole bunch of stuff - not worth my effort to even find out if legitimate. Be interesting to see what this stuff closes at.

I might steal that idea and go global with it! ;)

Aren't these "value" estimates and not necessarily estimated shipping charges?

    Both.

    From the first auction:

My Bad. I couldn't get past the "Seller's Estimate" and the Shipping and Payments tab was non-specific.
It looks like a flat rate shipping charge for all items and, yes, these "government seized" auctions usually attract a lot of ignorant folks looking for the deal of a lifetime.

I like their "Rare Early Dated Museum Coin" listings, some of which are just incoherent blobs of metal. Maybe if listed in the "Everything Else" section as a portable Rorschach test someone might buy them.

They have gold http://www.ebay.com/itm/1899-20-U-S...7561419?pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item51c468ebcb which would make the shipping insignificant, but those terms they use are concerning:
no pay pal? then where is that 19% going? No certainty of how you can pay?

    then:

What is the 19.95$ for if you still have to arrange shipping and delivery yourself?

Buyers fee. This is an auction house that is listing their stuff on ebay as well. They still charge the standard buyer fee for auction sales. Heritage and the other major houses did the same thing when they listed auction lots on ebay (Do they still list auction lots on ebay?)

The 19.95 is the shipping cost, the arranging for shipping an delivery mean you have to contact the seller to provide shipping address and any special instructions. I would guess they aren't going to go with any ebay supplied information.

What's with the sign-up thing? Why sign-up? Is that free of charge?

Yes, it's free. When I went through the sign-up process they said one of the reasons was there was a geographical restriction on the bidders and they were using the confirmed address to make sure you lived within the appropriate area.
