I see some nice examples of lamination. I think you could get around $500 for the collection, maybe more. I'm not an expert on errors though.
Oh my gosh, these errors are WICKED! I especially like the 1948 wheat cent, epic reverse. The 1965 kennedy half looks very sad, like Kennedy is bleeding out in his head. The 1948-s Looks like an extra beard for Lincoln, hillarious! And the 1960-D nickel is just plain rad.
Yeah, I don't know what the 48 Lincoln is... it's like a wrinkled up lamination. And the 48-S looks like he has one of those beard nets that dudes who work in restaurants have to wear, lol.
What Frank said. The Ikes are clipped planchets. As to value, ebay completed listings should give you some idea. Laminations are sometimes hard to put a definite price on, they're one of a kind errors. A lot depends on the denomination, size, where it's at and a certain coolness factor, like the '48 wheatie. Also on the Barber half, that coin might actually be hurt by the lamination.
Is it normal for a lamination to get crumpled up like it seems to be on the reverse of the Lincoln cent? Thanks again for the help, everyone.
Also, how sure are you that the V nickel is a lamination? Sort of looks like a die crack and cud since it isn't detached like the others. Idk...
On some of these partially detached laminations the "flap" can be as thin as tin foil and gets crumpled in circulation. I'm not sure about that one either. The heavy wear on it makes it harder to tell what's wear and what's a strike issue. The area above the eye is where it looks to me like a lamination.
