    Ok, I bought a slabbed lot on Ebay that said the value trends for $890,000,000 (or something close to that)for $69 as I could not handle the pressure. I needed to see what I was missing out on.

    Here are some of the coins I recieved in my lot. Please take a shot at what you think the coins graded. I will share the actual grade on the slabs.

    I am also sending the coins into NGC for crossover grading. Once they come back to me, I will post what NGC thinks.

    The 55 I would go low AU, maybe EF. It looks like there is a bit of wear there, could be wrong. The other one I would go Maybe high AU, slight chance borderline UNC. Probably wrong, but that is my opinion. Thanks for the guess the grade.

    The pics are a bit small for grading - can you post larger ones ?

    From what I can see I'd say
    55 = MS63
    56 = MS64

    well... a F-12 says "Hair lines about washington's ear visible. Tiny feathers on eagle's breast faintly visible
    VF says " Most hair details visible. wing feathers clear.
    Those pic's were kinda hard to tell ......... Paul

    I think that you meant to guess the grades that are on the original slabs, so:

    1955 = MS67
    1956D = MS68

    Actual: 1955 = MS63 (because of the marks on the face & hair, and the stray mark in front of George's face.
    1956D = MS64, just because, mostly the eye appeal, or lack thereof.
    Good luck.

    The coins were graded by UNC as:

    1955 MS67
    1956-D MS67

    The pic I took of the 55 before I sent it out disappeared. Here is the 56-D though;

    I will let you know what NGC says when I get them back.

    The 55 has a scratch right in front of GW's nose. Without the scratch it would have a shot at MS65 in my opinion.

    The 56-D has what appears to be a thumb print on it. It also has a small scratch behind GW's head. Probably not going to get MS62 out of it. May be body bagged.

    Some others I got and am crossover grading:
    a 1963 Roosie Dime That is graded MS67 FB. The reverse is weakly struck. I would be shocked if I got a FB when it comes back form NGC.
    a 1956 Wheatie UNC graded MS67RD. There are bag marks..I would guess MS60.
    and finally a 1955-D wheatie UNC graded MS67RD. This one might have a shot at the MS67 except there is something on the back near of one of the wheat ears. I will say net is MS64 if it doesn't get body bagged.

    Pics of the wheaties in the next msg.

    This is just one man's opinion . Keep your money in your pocket that you are thinking about using to send these coins off to Ngc with. They aren't worth the grading fees , but if you have money to burn then by all means send them off.

    Unfortunately, I agree with him. Those two dates are not particularly valuable in high grades and are only worth $50 each retail even in MS-66. I wouldn't waste the money on grading fees, as they will likely come back in lower grade holders. Just keep the coins as they are and enjoy them. :smile

    Here is the update.....drum roll please:
    NGC would not grade out either Quarter - Body Bag City
    The Roosie did not grade FB MS62
    The Wheaties - the 56 came back ms62 the 55D came back as ms64RD

    I went through the exercise to verify what I already knew - look out for those no-name TPG's.

    Tough lesson. My father did have one morgan dollar cross over to 64(was graded 67) into PCGS holder. After grading costs he could make a few bucks on it.

    56D had the thumb print Environmental damage

    55 Damaged Obverse - scratch....They called me about this one and did not charge me for it (good customer service in my book).
