Off the way question, sure. Do you carry a small flashlight when you go to shows to view the coins? When I went to the Pawn Stars shop I asked to look at the NGC Morgan Dollars they had and he handed me a flashlight to show the luster better... Since all the coin shops I've been to have absolutely poor lighting, I wonder if I should carry a little MAG light when I go to coin shops.... What do you think? Do you carry a flashlight?
Sometimes, yes. I have a magnifier/light combo - see images - which allows me to see coins a little larger. If I pull the upper part up (or the lower part down ), the light turns on. But I do not always have it with me ... Christian
Yeap, I got similar one. Taking it when I know I`ll need it. There is an app in smartphones that use camera to magnify, plus there is a flash led in most phones. And we all carry our smartphones everywhere.
Yes, I always carry a flashlight but it's a carryover from my last job. I haven't ever used it for coins. Since I only buy at shows I haven't needed it for that purpose. Smartphone. Ha! Don't have one. Still have an old flip phone.
Yes. I use an LED penlight, at home and at shows. Most useful thing I've ever gotten for viewing coins, especially dark, ancient bronzes.
A flashlight ? - no. A lighted loupe yes. These days most lighted loupes have an LED light on them, buy years ago I managed to find one with an incandescent bulb which is the best kind of light to use when you examine coins. I still carry it whenever to view any coins.
