Thanks for proving my point. Your business acumen is priceless, raise the price.

No other retailer would have this attitude. You better believe if a coin dealer asked for your best price, 90% of them would counter that price.

Raise the price. Yup, more and more coin dealers are going out of business. I wonder why?

This goes back to my recycled post #90 on this thread.being proud of totally unprofessional behavior.

I have never been in a position where I could act so poorly on the job. In fact I once had a table at a show. What I don't understand is if I could treat everyone with respect and not be a jerk to customers who clearly in no position to buy my coins or were not acting according to the cointalk published code of customer etiquette why could the other dealers do this?

The fact I'm not a coin dealer just makes it worse. If some shmuck pretending to be a coin dealer could act with respect and treat people with patience and understanding why can't the actual professionals? I had multiple people bargin under my best price I just smiled and told them "I'm sorry but this is the best I can do".

This behavior is exactly what the people on this board are specifically refering to as bad behavior and it is why many of us ignore these dealers and buy elsewhere.

These ludicrous responses force me to repost the 100th post in this thread: "Don't be scared of some asinine rule fed to you by a coin dealer. Be a man, not a sheep."

LOL at you sheeple for eating this garbage up.

    With you so far...

That's where you lose me. If you can't go lower? Fine. You are in business to buy & sell coins not gift them. "Sorry, that really is my best price, I can't go lower". A little politeness goes a long way. But your taking insult means you too have forgotten that you are in business to buy & sell coins, not be the Emily Post of Coin Dealers.

some dealers don't know what they are doing and over paid for certain coins and try to get you to over pay!

Another sheeple that drinks the coin dealers Kool Aid. LMAO. Best price means nothing.

When you grow up and become an educated, sophisticated man you'll see how the phrase best price means nothing. It is a bargaining tool, just like saying I can't go any lower or best I can do. If you sheeple choose to believe that garbage ,and turn your sheeple tails and run, you deserve to overpay.

I keep forgetting there are young people here who haven't dealt in the real world. You can sure tell which posters are still quite immature, and have never ventured into the real world of buying and selling. There are two of you for sure so far.

Here's a tip if a dealer says this is my best price, and you say well the highest I could go is"X" and the dealer raises the price, run! This is not the type of dealer you want to buy coins from. It is a childish response, and god forbid if you need to return a coin to someone that exhibits this type of behavior.

Got to go mail 2 coins I sold last night and when I get back the fun begins......and on those 2 coins I SET THE PRICE NOT THE BUYER. If he didn't buy it the next person in line would have, at my set price, not his.

    Be right back.

I've never negoitated for a car and had the salesman get offended and raise the price

I've never negotiated to buy a home and had the realtor get offended and raise the price.

I've never negotiated to buy jewelry at a trade show and had the vender get offended and raise the price.

I once did have a dealer get offended and raise the price when I was 15. I literally had the money in my hand and was going to pay the guy his asking price after I tried to ask for a deal. when he said no deal but he raised the price and I put the money back in my pocket and walked away.

In all sincerity can anyone name an item sold in the United states where the vender takes offense and raises the price as a result? I
Honestly can't think of a single one.

After 2 polite warnings, the next off thread topic post or ill humor ( my choice) will not receive a 3rd polite action and will close the thread.
