Buffalo nickel error

    Looks kind of like a lamination on a worn buff to me.

    I agree with Furry. A lamination loss after the strike. Not uncommon.

    Can a Buffalo Nickel that has an error with no date visible still be of value, because I have two with small errors and no dates? At least I think they are errors.

    Die clashes can produce lettering effect under the Chief's chin. Here is an example I have posted years ago. Usually very noticeable. I am sure you can tell I inverted the head .

    So PMD, lamination error, cpm (what is this?), die clash...your choice.
