Speaking of toned coins. I sold a no so toned coin that is an NGC slab to a buddy of mine. I saw the coin a few weeks ago and I was surprised because the coin looks alot darker than I remember. I really doubt that the slabs prevent the toning.

It's actually common knowledge among collectors of slabs that they don't prevent toning at all. We just don't hear about it so much on this sub-forum because we're old-school. The US collectors get into fisticuffs over it pretty often.

I freely admit they are terrible examples. But they were part of coins I bought for cleaning a few years ago, most of which turned out to be culls. Although not much better, at least I got these to a point they could be attributed.

Yes, I think that they're awesome (sadly, my great sense of humour seems to have missed its mark once again) ... *sigh*

    cheers

Excellent, excellent coin JA. A well struck, highly detailed late Roman bronze is always appealing.

Nice boring coins. I don't mind looking at a boring coin with good details.
