I found some!! Might be a new wave of them getting around or just some old rolls, I found 4 speared bison nickels this weekend all about ms 63 or ms 64 !!! ALL in the same roll! I would also mention that I went through about $1,500 worth of bison nickels and finally just found 4 after a year of searching!! (and yes they were the real ones not the poke in the but and poke in the head that we all see everyday!!) Anyway, just hoping to inspire some folks who were giving up hope.... There are still a few out there! <p> On another subject of the westward journey nickels, I seem to see more "mint damage" than usual for nickels, I've been seeing a lot of nasty bag marks and I've only found a handful of what I would consider ms 65+ only one that I would consider ms68.. Are the rest of you finding this true?? I feel like I've looked through a decent amount of new rolls to be able find a few more than that (all D mint, up here in Alaska) anyway.... maybe I'm just overly harsh with my grading but I'll send a couple off to be graded this week... Anyway.. happy hunting all... Aaron
I found 18 of them from a sealed $100 box about a year ago, have searched 12 more sealed boxes since (600 rolls) without finding any more. There are more than likely still a few around, a lot of people put away rolls of Denver buffalo nickels.
