Slow is better than getting skunked... I've been on a streak for quite a while now... working on 8 skunks in a row if my memory serves correctly... and that's just halves.

I found a Merc in a box of dimes a few weeks ago and got excited. Then, 4 boxes later, nothing to show but a 50% Canadian 196x dime... Got some Wheaties, but nothing to write home about. Did a few boxes of Nickels, too, but not one Buff or War. :-(

Bummer. Everyone else must be getting skunked also. But things always come around with time and effort. I'm not currently searching but keep up with the thread. Might jump back in someday.

 

I have been deployed and out of the area since pretty much June so I haven't really been able to CRD. I will be home next week for a bit(hopefully) and I will start CRHing again.

I've gotten about 6 this month out of maybe $750 searched

 

Went through a roll of $20 St. Gaudens and found a a couple 1925-S...jk jk. 5 boxes of halves...all skunk. This hobby just doesn't seem worth it anymore.

$72 BWR/loose Ikes - nothing, but i had never seen ikes in a BWR before. plain white rolls with $20-DOLLARS-20$ in black ink.
$264 BWR/loose Halves - 1963-D, 1964 x2, 1965 x2, 1966 x1, 1967 x14, 1968-D x12, 1969-D x2
in all, 3 90% and 31 40%. probably the best search ive had in a couple months

 

Last night I looked thru $6 in NF String (rare in my area) BWRs of nickels and found:

1943-S war
1974-D BU (hole filler)

I still have $100+ in BWR nickels to look thru, but lack the time right now! The cold, dark, snowy winter is coming to my area soon , so I KNOW I'll have plenty of time soon enough

Two boxes halves: 6-NIFC, 1-1999S, no silver. The first box had almost new 1997-Ds in every roll; bet there were three rolls total in the box.

Box of pennies, probably my best yet (if not best, then at least my favorite). Some nice toning on a couple of coins, probably AT but they're still pretty. Also:

Even if all the errors are junk though, still my favorite box!
