Here are the dates I have. Are any worth much or worth keeping? 2000 P 2000 D 2001 D 2001 P I also found one that I think is Close to BU and it is a 2000 D I also Found one that might be an error or just an impresson there are 2 pressure circle marks on the coin.
well umm the 2000 & 2001 where the only 2 years that this coin was released for public circulation purposes. After that they where released only too post office stamp machines and collectors. The 2001-S is a very sought after collectible. Regarding impressions ~~~umm post pic. Lets have a look at it.
I have a small collection of SAC's that I got for face value or just over. They are BU and I have them just to have them. I don't expect to see them increase much in value. When it comes time to decide if "any" coin is worth keeping, that decision falls on you. If you collect to sell sooner then later, there are much better coins to collect then SAC's. If your a young person, putting away a collect of BU Sac's might be something for your grand or great grandchildren to have someday, 20-40+ years from now.
Already vbeen discussed - mintage miht be MORE than the past few years. Mintage is linked to the prez dollars.
The fed is going to order about 300 million of each Pres coin Thats 1.2 mil. With the bags already in reserve of SBA and Sac. (Talk to Person I know at Fed Reseve in Philly ) I do not see them producing many more Sac's this year then any other year encil:
The law as written - " `(ii) CIRCULATION QUANTITY- Beginning January 1, 2007, and ending upon the termination of the program under paragraph (8), the Secretary annually shall mint and issue such `Sacagawea-design' $1 coins for circulation in quantities of no less than 1/3 of the total $1 coins minted and issued under this subsection. " As it says, no less than 1/3. That means that if they mint 300 million of each President for a total of 1.2 billion - they are required by law to mint no less than 300 million Sackys this year. It's pretty cut and dried.
600 million. If the Sac has to be 1/3 of the total mintage then 1.2 billion is 2/3 of the total mintage. Half of 1.2 billion or 600 million would be 1/3 of the total mintage . Since the Sac has to be 1/3, it has to be 600 million. Split that between both mints and the 2007 mintage from each mint will be three times the total mintage for2001.
