First of all, I am new here so HELLO EVERYONE

I have had this coin forever. i cant make up my mind about what it is... Its a 1983D Washington Quarter with doubling on the forehead and mouth. I know that it is doubling, I just want more information on the type of doubling that it is. Attaching a photo, my scanner is not great I cant figure out how to make good scans of coins but you will get the idea. If anyone has any info that would be greatly appreciated.

The coin is very damaged. It appears to be what we call slot machine coins. They have an appearance like this from being clanked against thousands of other coins as they circulate through the slot machines at various casinos. The mouth is just damamged

    kristjandv,
I have a 1922 Peace Dollar that the L and I as well as the front of the face are doubled all the way down like the way yours sounds. I will tell you, wit the scanner and the digital camera, i cannot for the life of me get a clear picture either.
