I would like to use the USPS to mail coins in a #10 envelope in the US.
I would use the "Rigid" option.
Since the coins would in the $10-20 range I don't want to post them without tracking.
The USPS website doesn't price tracking (the old Delivery Confirmation) for envelopes.

Does that mean tracking cannot be used?

Why would you want to ship in a normal envelope? Terrible way to ship in my opinion. Ship in the cheapest bubble envelope you can find, and they add tracking to every package now for free. They don't tell you they do, but they do.

Those bubble wrap mailers cost you $1.93 First Class for 3 oz or less and the tracking is included. Are you thinking your envelopes would be less?

Wrap your inserted material with enough padding ( I have used one layer of bubble wrap) to make it thicker than 1/4 inch ( The PO has a cardboard with a 1/4in slit and if can't make it through and it becomes first class parcel rate) which is same as letter rate up to 13 ounces, and does allow tracking ( unlike the letter rate). This rate is available from ebay postage on items

How much is the postage for this method? As @stldanceartist said, $1.93 is the cheapest way to mail it with tracking option, I thought.

    D'oh.
Old age is a REAL bummer.
I had totally forgotten that I used to use bubble mailers.
And that I still have a bunch.
They are light and do the job perfectly.

    Thanks for all the responses.
