    Howdy good people,

I'm confused and I'm sure you can help me. I've got subscriptions at the mint for the basic stuff - 5 each of the basics 3 for the ATB 5 oz. silver rounds. Ok. I was notified that Smokey Mtns was sold out and I was SOL. I would not of thought that on a popular issuance, in spite of my subscription, I need to get on the phone?!? Oh, and does that mean I get 6 instead of 3?

BTW, it's priced at $249 vs. $222 for Mt. Rushmore and Fort McHenry and $179 for Arches and Shenandoah.

    thanks folks,

Subscriptions are supposed to mean you're the first one in line. I'd be on the phone with 'em to find out what the devil happened........

When did you start your subscription?

I'm not even sure what you are talking about. Smoky was not priced at $249? And the others are not priced at those priced either? Are you sure you are talking about ordering from the actual US Mint?

Thanks folks, I'll call them and see what is the story.

BTW, my price quotes were not from the mint but current retail per apmex.

The reason I asked when you entered you subscription is because you only get the products that are released after you start your subscription. It sounded to me almost like you were expecting to be able to get all of the "back issues" of the pucks by subscribing today, and that's not the way it's going to work.

If I misunderstood your question, I apologize.

    Howdy,

BTW, I've had this subscription for the ATB pucks for three of the issues with Smokey Mtn's being the 3rd. This is the one they told me was Sold Out.

I talked with the mint and was told that having a subscription DOES NOT gain you a Place in Line. I then stated, that with this knowledge, I was going to have to call and place an order for any item I think MIGHT sell out. She agreed. But, replies I, that means I end up with double my intended purchase. She agreed.

    edited good is a subscription?

    and so it goes,

    peace,

I also don't think I understand your question. I signed up for the ATB subscription while Arches was still the current product. That meant that STARTING with the next issue, Sand Dunes, I would begin receiving them as they are released. And I did...I got my Sand Dunes last week.

Since Smokey Mountains was released early in the year (the first 2014, I think), you would have needed to be a subscriber at the beginning of the year to receive it when it was released. If that was the case and you didn't get it, the time to complain to the Mint was in the first quarter, not now.

I don't know Rono, I think the Rep is giving you some bad info. The whole idea behind the subscription program was for collectors not to have to worry about signing in on 'release day'. I always understood that the mint honored the subscription folks first and then took care of the rest of the public. My experience has always been good in that I always receive my products way ahead of my brothers and sisters who hover around the computer on 'game day'.

The only way I can see subscription holders not getting a coin is if there are more people subscribed than the mintage limit. I doubt that is the case, especially going forward. I know I canceled my ATB subscription since they stopped the discount. I wonder if the next coin released will be the lowest mintage this year because of this?
