Yes, after a very glutinous August, I've spent September sitting on the bench watching the rest of you all-stars posting winner after winner, after winner, after winner (you get the picture, right?) ... anyway ...

Yah, I saw these two lil' archaic ancients and I really didn't want to break-up the pair (kinda like breaking-up that sweet lil' sister and brother pair at the orphanage) ...

These babies also had that super-cool crystalized thingy goin' on (ummm, probably not everybody thinks that this is a selling feature, but I've always been drawn towards that sweet look) ...

Oh plus, in case you haven't noticed => they're totally awesome lookin' Rams!!!

I hope that you like 'em (I love adding to my already robust archaic collection) ... please welcome my two newest lil' sweeties to the dance!!

=> oh, and please feel free to post any of your cool Ram coins, or Troas coins, or any pictures of your dogs, or any drawings from your Grade 2 art-class, etc ...... I don't really have too many rules ...

=> oh, except for one strict rule!! => you'd better be having fun!!

=> thanks, brother-Z .... yah, that lil' winner kinda looks like it's a 3-D animal coin!!

    amazingly => the estimate was $150 (so I threw-down a stevex6 bid of $255) ... and I got it for its entrance-fee ($90)

... I was giddy (I think the coin rocks!!)

Those are fabulous :). I love the craquelure texture on archaic coins.

You should buy more coins to keep us entertained. It's your duty, brother! Do your duty :D

I like your Klazo Athena/ram better than mine.

Here's another interesting ram. I bought it thinking it was an issue of Egyptian pharaoh Nektanebo only to have my bubble burst. It's still interesting but not as interesting.

Awesome coin Steve! This type usually doesn't catch my eye but those are a couple good looking rams. Hopefully you can resist the temptation to make the Rams fight by knocking the coins together!

Those are great little silvers, Steve! I like the crystallized surfaces also. You don't really see them in hand, unless you're using a loupe. They reflect the light in interesting ways.

Thanks for the coin-compliments, my friends ...

Yah, I really like archaic coins ... they always look so "manually made" ... I suppose that is because they really were made by hand, eh? (and they were made such a long, long time ago) ... fascinating!

... now let's see a few more of your cool coins!

    :woot:

Steve, I think you're smart getting these little silvers from CNG. I've been looking at a few myself, in their shop - some of the more counterfeited types, and I'm planning to collect some, but only from CNG. I just don't trust myself well enough to spot the fakes.

As far as adding to this thread goes, I don't have any rams, but I do have a coin from the region of Troas, but from Alexandreia, and from a much later time period. I've over-posted this coin, but it remains one of my favorite provincial Romans.

Rev.: COL AVG; grazing horse r. // TROA
