I knew someone inherited a huge coin collection that included 100s of Morgan Dollars. I told him I wanted to buy them for more than face value. This was huge, old bank notes in the 10,000s+++ in face value. 100s+ Morgan dollars rare, beautiful condition 1804 and just about every date the man had been in his 90s. I called him again he said he got rid of them for face vaule.
He got rid of them for face value???? Was he not aware that the silver content in those coins is ALOT more than face??
mabe becuase he was 90 he didn't really care about the money since he dosn't have a lot of time left.

lol...it is a way to indicate that someone is swearing without actually using the nasty words themselves.:smile
Why not?? The guy was in his 70s or 80s and he had his own company...I was quite puzzeled myself....I was also unhappy
what an idiot, and you even told him. But, I have had that happen before. I even had a client tell me that he had just rolled and gotten rid of over $1,000 in silver (face value) at work. '
Wow do you work at a Bank? Must find some good stuff there with all the stuff that comes in..or even your friend
Don't be unhappy. Be happy that you missed out on this deal. More than likely the coins were counterfeit from China. Once, I held in my hands over 50% of the population of the 1804 dollars. The only problem with these coins is that they didn't weigh the right amount. I feel sorry for the bank employee who took them in at face.
