I try not too look. I tell myself don't do it. But then I take just one little peek and I know I am addicted too Coin Porn. I am so ashamed of myself. LOL A couple of recent additions. Bought already graded by NGC as MS67RD and had them sent into CAC by a fellow member. They were both certified. Thank you for the help. It is greatly appreciated. The 1946 is the first certified by CAC in MS67RD and the 46 D is the 14th in MS67RD.
Some Coin Porn from the early modern Lincoln Memorial side. NGC has graded approximately 661 examples so far with a population of 3 in MS67RD with none graded higher. Thanks too robecsimages for the great photo
Sometimes it is about the breakfast of champions "Wheaties", and sometimes it is about the "Cheerios". NGC MS66RB 1955 Doubled Die Lincoln Wheat ear and NGC MS67RD 2000 Cheerios Promotion Lincoln Memorial cent View attachment 355705
holey cow that '55 is gorgeous. I have a cheerios cent still in the sealed package it came in. what's it worth now ? what is your worth since it is slabbed NGC ?
At NGC in M67 the Cheerios list for $65. Having one sealed in original packaging I am not sure. Always cool too have them the way they came. The 55 was a dream from the time I was a young one collecting cents. No comments about age as I am 3 years younger than the coin. Doubled vision and not as interesting as Mr Lincoln but younger.
I just don't understand how that got a 6 with all of that on the shoulder & the lower front chest. Also, I have seen cents with far more red labeled brown Inquiring minds want to know
I will be the first one too admit that this one should be graded brown. It will be going back too NGC for that. I just bought this coin earlier this year from a major auction house advertised as still being red brown. Not the case. As far as the grade goes I will stand by that. Yes it does have some "chatter" as I refer too it going on in the areas you mentioned. The rest of the coin both obverse and reverse and the areas of doubling are really clean.
The grade for color was probably correct at one time. I believe it has toned past the red brown state and now is brown. No fault of NGC
