I at times buy items from estate sales. I bought this old beat up group of candy machines and assumed they were all empty. I Bought the machines and picked them up to take them to my car and man they were heavy and I heard the coins moving inside too my surprise as I walked down the block toting this thing. Turns out three of them are full of coins one of the lower machines was broken into a long time ago no keys were with the machines. I plan on opening these later tonight or tomorrow one is a nickel and 2 are cent machines. They seem full based on how much they weigh. I will post a result soon , since the lady told me they were in use in a private school a long time ago before it closed down. Hope it is not a bunch of zincolns they would be nice and crusty by now judging by the corrosion on some of the chrome on the machine parts.
maybe you will find some good stuff. wonder what is in the the fourth one. If I were you I'd fix them up a bit make a key for them and fill them with candy. Then whenever you have friends over tell them wheat cents and buffalo nickels only.
I doubt you will find any post 1982 Lincoln cents in the cent machines. They look like 1950's to early 1960's vintage candy machines and you might find some nice coins in them.
The first one I opened was the nickel machine. The machine was full and the latest date was 1982. The earliest was 1939 and a few 40's and 50's mostly late 70's and early 80's. Nothing good really but fun being the first guy to see them since the early 80's. Both of the other machines have cents and I will post the result in a little while.
