Hey everyone! Just got my results from my "5 Free Submissions" that came with an upgraded NGC membership. Was generally VERY happy with my cherry picks... thought I'd share the results with you. Sent in the following coins: 1941 D Jefferson Nickel 1949 S Jefferson Nickel 1946 S/S/S/S DDR FS-501 Roosevelt Dime 1956 Proof Washington Quarter (Reverse Die Gouge) 1956 Type B Reverse Washington Quarter Here are the photos with the results: 1941 D Jefferson Nickel NGC MS67 6FS (Top Pop) (Paid $1 at a local flea market) 1949 S Jefferson Nickel NGC MS66 1946 S/S/S/S DDR FS-501 NGC MS67FT (Top Pop (none higher), one of 3 or 4 at NGC depending on when they update their pop #s; none higher at PCGS) (Paid $1.50 at a LCS) 1956 Proof Washington Quarter (Reverse Die Gouge) NGC PF63 (Paid $6 on eBay) 1956 Type B Reverse Washington Quarter NGC MS64 (Paid $10 at LCS) I'll most likely end up keeping the Jeffersons and the Roosevelt, but I'm undecided on whether to keep the Washington Quarters...what would you do?
I was a little disappointed with the Type B (thought it would get a 65) and that there are no Stars (was hoping the 1949S or 46S might get one for color), but hey...I am NOT complaining about this submission.
Thanks everyone for the positive comments. I'll just be overjoyed if the USPS doesn't steal them on the way back. Putting anything in the hands of the USPS is a gamble.
The coins look wonderful and that 1941-D Jefferson looks especially terrific. I must comment though, that we have had significantly different experiences with the USPS as I have never had a package lost and only one damaged over many years and many hundreds, if not thousands, of shipping events.
You're absolutely right...that 41-D is amazing! We have had completely different experiences with the USPS, though. I'll stop commenting on the USPS so I don't derail my own thread, though.
