You can save even more by getting all of them, he's got a selection of similar IHC's. Great way to start the series.

Lol.......maybe I can buy them all and then waste some more money and send them off to NCS for conservation!! Hopefully nobody bites on those Indians.

Kind of amazing he has a 100% positive feedback selling coins like this. I sold a bunch of F-EF common date Indian heads about a year ago on eBay and generally only got a few dollars a piece for them.

What is wrong with the listing?

    "1901 INDIAN HEAD CENT RARE!"

He says that it is rare! And we know that the seller is never wrong.
    Unless he is.

Rare is a commonly used phrase by alot of ebay sellers. I see common date proof sets, where there are dozens selling on ebay at any given time, and you'll always get the guy proclaiming them rare.
Just like the up and down lettering on the new dollar. Is it rare when half the production is one way and half is the other. If those buyers would spend a few minutes reading or getting on this forum, they wouldn't be taken. I feel sorry for none of them.

    Howdy folks,

Hey, 'there's a sucker born every minute'. I watch the IHC listings on Ebay and have actually even bought some - successfully. However, you see this sort of add constantly and for the most part, no one bids. They just go unsold.

As for calling it 'Rare'. Geez, rare's a relative thing. As collectors, we have a definition of Rare in relative terms. However, the target market for these Indians is the average person off the street and when was the last time they rec'd an IHC in change? Ergo, for them it's 'rare'.

However, it's obvious that this seller has a lot of 'sand'.

    take care,

    rono
