    Interesting inheritance find...

Small hoard of mini mint bags! Never knew of such a thing. They are all from 1973.

These are from another one of the bags, toning varies wildly on these for some reason...

That is pretty cool. I do not recall those at all - but then again I was mainly searching change at the time.

I don't remember seeing them either, but having such things does not surprise me. The mint used to be more informal about such things, as opposed to now having a bunch of fancy holders they want you to pay extra for. I wonder why the mint never offers commemorative coins without the packaging and paper for a discount? I am betting at least half gets thrown away due to dealers having these graded.

I love the explanation they give for why it cost what it cost.

Actually a lot of dealers try to sell off the original packaging as coin collecting supplies.

I wonder if the blind are still working for the mint. It would explain a lot.

I'm thinking the mint gift shops sold these. Cool stuff.

Wonder who the mint had put these sets together? Send a real sized mint bag of cents from each mint to the contractor who hired blind people to make bags, hired child laborers to repeatedly count to 5, etc.

It's my understanding that the Blind only made the bags.
I'm sure someone else filled them.

These were sold by the mint in 72, 73 and 74. i don't think they were sold by mail (at least I don't remember ever being offered them by mail back then). They were most likely sold over the counter at the mint gift shops.
