I have a few coins i want to have submitted to a grading company. I will only use NGC or PCGS!! I will give a list of the coins i want to send in the average grade of the coins and let me know what you think which coins would be better in which holders !! I may even do a small submission to both companies let me know..
    1903 Indian Head Cent AU-55-Ms63
    1937-S Buffalo Nickel Ms-65-66
    1941 Walking liberty Half ms63-65
    1893 Colombian Half Dollar ms63-64
1955 Franklin Bugs Bunny variety ms63-65
1831 Capped Bust Half Dime- Au50
    1863 albany store card ms63-65
    1920 pilgrim Tercent commemorative ms63-65
    1898 Barber Half Dollar Au50

I know all of these coins will grade problem free!! It is not a question of will they grade it is just a question of what plastic they will be in !!

Although both grading services have their own strong and weak series, the decision likely should have more to do with what each coin looks like than what series it belongs to.

Good photos would make a big difference.

ill see what i can do but none of the coins are going to be the best graded examples but they are nice sold coins never cleaned or dipped, no bad scratches !! What do you think would give me the best value you on the coins ??

It's a lot more complicated than this but, simplistically, brlliant-untoned coins tend to do better at PCGS, and toned coins do better at NGC.

not really much to speak of with toning minus the 1893 which is minimal but nice !!

Sean, I know what you are asking but to a large degree the coin itself will determine its value regardless of what slab it is in.

Yeah it used to be that coins in PCGS slabs would bring higher values than coins of the same grade in NGC slabs. But in today's world people have become more discriminating buyers, today more of them tend to actually look at the coin than the plastic it is in.

Yes plastic buyers still outnumber coin buyers, but it has gotten better. It's no where near as bad as it used to be. Go check auction results on Heritage for the coins you are wondering about. Find an example, same grade in an NGC slab and another in a PCGS slab. Then look at the two coins. Odds are the nicer coin will be the one which brought the better price. And yes one will almost always be nicer than the other, even though they are both the same grade.
