Surely, this had to be a bored mint employee having fun. A die chip could not have been this well placed. Let just say Abe is indecent.

Let's just say that if I were you, I'd look a little closer; you might just be pleasantly surprised.

Yes, I see that, but moving along....

There appears to be more going on that just the column doubling. Perhaps Simon or one of the other Lincoln variety guys could say more, but if the OP is interested in varieties, this one is worth at least looking into:

It's not a die chip, this is a doubled column+doubled knee. Very cool!

Okay, I'll play. Is this a previously reported variety, or is this a new discovery? Maybe a known class, but not this particular version? Do the TPG's recognize these? If not, what is the process of getting it recognized?

Well I had posted a coin a few months ago for the obverse only....I was thinking it was a bit inappropriate to post the reverse as I found the same thing. Now I have to find the darn coin!!!!! I have a picture of it somewhere in my files.

I think you are correct. The marking on my coin after closer inspection match the exact ones that thr web site displays. It may not be valuable, but it is fun to find a real error. Thank you so much.
