Is this one sided V Nickel real?

How do you remove a side?

Or a lot of patience with sandpaper.

I would say 10 - 15 seconds on a belt sander. That is lacking all patience.

 

Could hurt your fingers Richard. Best to stick with the Dremil.......

 

There are lots of ways to hold it without my fingers.

 

Coin is real, but it didn't leave the mint looking like that.

As for removing a side, try a surface grinder in an automotive shop. Used for grinding heads and other gasket surfaces to a flat plane.

 

I have one like that as well, except both sides are rubbed off. It looks more like wear rather than intentional smoothing. Similar to a buffalo nickel that has worn off...
