Tried to post yesterday. I don't think it took.

I was dumping my jar of searched pocket change at Coinstar yesterday. I collected my rejects out of the tray and mixed among the rejects that I'd just dumped were 6 Mercs. I guess my rejected coins jarred them loose out of the tube.

Fast forward a few hours... I'm at my favorite watering hole and the guy that collects the money out of the pool tables and video poker machines slaps down a 64 Washington in front of me.

All in all I'd say it was a decent day for junk silver found in the wild.

For some reason the coin star machines reject silver dimes. A plus for you if you can get them. Just keep on looking.

It is funny how some coins get stuck in the internal hopper until the next customer comes along and their coins jar them out into the reject slot. I have gotten some older Canadian silver that way. Mercs would be a definite plus though!

After diligently searching pocket change and the occasional roll for a year and a half, all I've found were a few war nickels. Then in a single day I get a total of 7 silver coins without even searching.

I thought it was pretty cool.

The obvious strategy is ... toss a handful of slugs and five zincers into a machine and see what pops out :D

Send my royalties to my PP addy :D
