Hello. I have two questions. 1)How can you tell if the PVC damage is to much so that you wouldn't clean it? And does it remove other dirt grime as well? 2) Does this process work for clad coins as well / and coins that are circulated not just MS
acetone will remove the green pvc goo, as well as any other organic matter on the coins surface. After the green stuff is gone, if you see etched metal where the pvc used to be, it's pretty much game over.
The acetone itself won't be a problem unless the organic debris was hiding surface problems, the latter of which could cause a details grade.
