Just pulled the trigger on my first toned Morgan Dollar, or any Morgan Dollar for that matter. Really looking forward to seeing this one in hand. Talk about elevation chromatics @WingedLiberty ! (seller's photos below)
I just picked up an AU 55 capped bust quarter from the same seller (seller pics below). The pics are good but don't really do it justice. The obverse has iridescent blue and purple toning around most of the rim and the clasp area. I especially like the golden toning throughout, especially in the letters of Liberty and the low points in the cap.
Super exited about this new coin. I finally have the 1964 Kennedy 90% silver hole filled for my US Circulation Strike (CAC) Type Set. Obviously, this coin is not CAC, but it's still lovely! For $44, what more could I ask for? Thanks Great Collections!
Don't have this one in hand yet, but I really liked the toning, especially on the reverse. PCGS AU 53.
Here is my latest, it completes my SBA Types. Thanks again to Ian at Great Collections! A lovely, fairly priced (auction) Type Coin.
Latest addition is a cheap greek I got. I liked the portrait. Æ18 o: Head of the nymph Larissa right, with hair tied in bun at back; monogram behind . R: Apollo standing right, shooting arrow with his bow; monogram to right. 18mm 5.09
So I managed to work out a massive trade for a coin I need for my CAC Type Set. I don't have any cash right now for coins, but this was mostly cash-free! This coin cost me $50 shipped: The trade portion of the deal was for 69 other coins, all raw! I traded 69 silver coins at melt, even though many were not junk. There was ASE, Morgans, Rounds, Halves, Quarters, Dimes that totaled $500 melt. It was a fair deal, and I got to clear out around 33% of my entire collection in one fell swoop. I like not having to keep track of these raw bits and pieces. I only have a few coins left that I still want to sell, as I consolidate my collection to just my Type Coins and a raw MS Silver Washington Dansco. When the coins arrives, Ill get new pics for all y'all.
Glad you pulled it off! When you told me about it last night, I wasn't quite sure what you were going to do.
Nice coin, and congrats on working on a silver Washington Dansco. I hope you're having as much fun filling one in as I am. I'm trying to collect toned Washies. Here are a couple recent additions...
Won this on ha tonight my first cc trade and a great addition to my regristy set. Is so hard to find problem free ones with original surfaces especially Carson city ones. Wipes my coin budget out for awhile tho
From a few days ago. I thought the pair of proofs for $1.50 was a pretty good deal. Thanks for checking them out. -L
I scored a score of 1977-S Clad Proof Eisenhower dollars! I never really appreciated them as a yoot, but did like getting them from my Grandpa or for lost teeth. Rob
