    Looks like a Lima 8 reales counterstamped in the Philippines

    Here's somebody on eBay asking $1300 for a similar piece - evidently they're quite rare. I'd get this one authenticated.

    I have no idea, but I certainly wouldn't drop $1300 on it without a second opinion.

    I just bought it for $400 after reading up on the provided info. Not bad! It is returnable if counterfeit, though.

    It looks legit from what I can see and should weigh the same as any Spanish 8 real at 27.06 grams .

    Looks real and i would say that sending it in to pcgs would be a smart choice.

    Possible to post better pictures?
    Look to have a coppery color with areas of silver gilding, though I believe this is just the lighting. Details look just fine.

    It's the lighting. These are the typical seller's pics he takes. The "color" always looks similar on his silver coins.

    the difference is Lima is the mint not the country.

    I always get annoyed with how they grade these. I really believe this coin, as well as the other posted above, are substantially better than VG.
