    Hello,
I recently found this dime and it is completely missing one side. It has the heads side but is blank on the flip side. I guess it was an error that slipped through. Can anyone give me more information on it and a guess on how much it would be worth? Thanks

    Lily, welcome to CoinTalk

It looks to have been ground/sanded/ shaved off. You can tell by the absence of a rim on the reverse.

It was most likely used as a cuff link, button, tie tack or broach of some sort which is why it has what looks to be a solder spot in the middle of the reverse

Looks totally fake. I don't think this was a coin in the past.

If it were a real dime with the reverse milled off it would still have a reeded edge, this one does not. As previously mentioned it is a cast copy used in some manner on clothing.

Also..the Weinman initial is larger than an original Mercury. That W is huge! LilyS for your info. The front of the coin is referred to as the OBVERSE and the back as the REVERSE. Welcome ;)

If you notice, the W on the real dime has what looks like an "A" under it. As others have mentioned, what you posted isn't a coin, but rather a decorative piece such as a button or cuff link.
