Hello. I recently purchased a 1938 D buffalo nickel slabbed by ICG as an MS66. I am wondering on its value if I were to sell it, does it have the full horn, is the grade correct, and if so is it worth submitting it into PCGS or NGC?

I would say you have a fairly common date and grade coin i would say from what i see that it would most likely got ms65 in ngc or pcgs plastic, you are looking in the 25-37 dollar range for a ms65 buffalo nickel and it is likely what you will get for this coin.

While certainly a fine collectible, the coin is painfully common in this range, so if you wish to own a PCGS or NGC certified example, you're best bet is to simply buy one.

As for value, a quick scan of completed eBay listings (which I believe fair for a coin such as this) shows a general range of $17.50-$45 or so for an ICG66, with somewhere in the low-middle probably a reasonable generic estimate.
