Another thing thanks for the warning. Never knew Those holders were a potential threat. Also my father gave the album to me. It has sentimental value to me a bit. And His father my grandfather gave that to him.

It's pretty but someday you'll wake up to green goo, I've seen two harco 1909-198xx sets that you could not even get the coins out of after 6 years, why yours has lasted ??? not a clue, IMHO I do not trust those things, sell the set, yours is looking very good, not to many key dates try 50-80, but watch 09-s VDB 14-D 22 n/D be ruined almost brought me to tears, If you see any reaction start, pull 'um, and go staple flips.

as I said shoot for $50-80 you'll get less, unless you have some double dies in there.

It is hard to believe that PVC plasticized pages were accepted as Ok long ago. The very early coinmaster albums had little plasticizer, but they cracked, so I gather more chemicals were used. These were dominant for several years, and then they went to non-PVC pages, which are sold today for replacement . If you show any PVC damaged coins you should. If they were in hot , dry areas, usually nothing bad happened. Live in a wet cool area, the chemicals evaporated very slowly and had plenty of time to cause problems. You can remove each coin and put it into an acetone rinse to remove any PVC chemicals, but not any existing damage. I like those albums and have upgraded all my pages. Doug has posted how to use acetone correctly. I agree with him, except I do not end with a water rinse, I end with the acetone rinse to displace any water. :)

Thank you, I appreciate your information, I still grieve but seeing those key dates 09-40 go in a Harco, I just had to respond.
