1984-D Jefferson Nickel With Distorted Fonts

    Searching through some nickel rolls today I found this ugly little guy.

    I was just throwing it into the discard pile when I noticed something looked odd, very odd.

    All the font of the text have weird thickness and doubling.

    I assume its combo of die deterioration and other issues?

    Any suggestion of comments?

    I also have a nickel just like this one. Im new to coin searching and i dont know what you mean by past stages or whatever. Plz explain. Thankyou

    I have a nickel with a 0 on top of 8 in 1984 is it value?
