No one seems to know what this late Roman coin is. Some say it might be Vandal, late 5th century. There is a winged caduceus on the reverse. Another said this coin is not in any catalog.

This is not my coin. It belongs to another dealer. I would like to know what it is and so would other people.

I might have seen a Justinian with this reverse. I'll have to look around.

What makes you sure it's a LRB? There are some Greeks with that reverse. Could be from Thrace (Tomis).

Something like this coin from Wildwinds:

I was actually beginning to think it may not be a late Roman. I thought it might be a imitation of a Antioch coin.

I'm going to look into that and suggest it could be from Thrace (Tomis) to open up other options.

I agree that Syria is another possibility. I'm not sure if Tomis issued bronzes that small but there does appear to be an M on the reverse. I'll keep my eyes peeled as I browse various books and resources.

    chrsmat71 I LIKE TURTLES!

that really doesn't look like LRB does it?

at first I thought it may be one of those vaspasian quadrans with globe obverse, but I think that's a head isn't it?

    sorry..i'm no help.
