To Slab or Not To Slab...What's the Right Investment Choice?

    Yes that 1996 is a good one with the W-Dime. The 1973 another only way to get the P & D Ikes and the1987 only way to get the Kennedy P& D halves 1981 the SBA

    Why those years???

    On the 96, I guessing its becasue of the (W) mint marked Dime???

    As Philly Dog posted above..

    In other words those sets have coins that wern't issued for Circulation---and can only be found in MintSets....that is, unless someone cuts up a set and spends them and that happens often.

    I think some of you missed the point. Just how much could his coins have increased in price in two months. Sure maybe he got some good deals, but usually the dealers beat everyone to those. If he wants to see how well he is doing take the coin that shows the highest price difference from the list and sell it. It will give him a general idea of what is going on. He's smart to by slabbed coins so he knows the grade but not all 67,68,69,70 graded coins mean your going to get big bucks. The market is what drives coin costs. The more people who enter the hobby the less coins of certain types are available and that is what increases the cost. Ther is a lot to learn yet for him, especially with silver coins, the silver market, and you have to learn the ropes either by reading or by someone taking him under there wings for guideance.
