1961 Swedish 25 öre

    I picked this up for a song. It is 40% silver. This is the only one like this I've ever seen.

    Huh, for a song? :) Sweden had 25 öre coins until the mid-1980s (today 1 krona is the smallest denomination). The sign on the right is "TS", the initials of the mintmaster Torsten Swensson (1961 was his last year in office, I think). The sign on the left refers to Stockholm; it is a somewhat abstract version of the city's coat of arms.

    Interesting that the 25 öre 1946 does not have the country name. Guess they thought that the king's monogram would do. ;) The design I like, especially the style of the (wheat?) ears around the face value ...
