Nickles, as Ive said Ive never really given the nickles that Ive accumulated much thought or time, until lately,,, going thru my war nickles today sitting here with my loop, just taking a look at them, Ive come across a couple of interesting things, 1942-P graded AU-58 with a clearly doubled nose,as well as what could be on several other details,, 1943-P with what maybe a doubled eye, having never seen one Im not sure about this one, but there is definitly something there that is not present on other coins. with well over two hundred more nickles to go thru ,,, Im pretty happy so far.
hehehe yes I too need to get a loupe im stuck with a dollar store magnifying glass.. the thing is huge lol but it gets the job done for now... least to say I wont be bringing it to a coin show lmao.. good job on those nickels man... ive yet to find any war nickels but I have come across a couple of pre 1965's that I threw in a nickel tube... hope you find some more... show some pics when you got time Mach
Is there a market for such errors? How does one find that market (CONECA). I have a ton of old jefferson's and maybe it's worth my time to review these if there is any value to them. Otherwise, I would just end up selling them at a little above face value as they don't have much value because of wear...
Skane Iam far from the best person to ask about nickels, but it is my understanding that just about any Authenticated error has a market,, just where that is would be something I would have to investigate to have an answer to. Iam relitively new to the error coins and extremely new to the nickels,, but Im working on the study and knowledge,, but for now I submit to the very knowledgeable folks who frequent this room.
I bought two off center coins from a dealer at a coin show for 18 bucks.........everyone said I got took.........but I liked them just the same......a few weeks later I sold the same two coins on Ebay for over 70 bucks.............go figure
2005 nickels-print not complete I have a 2005 nickel that does not have the complete printing, not really sure what it is called. But the five cents is faded out to the edge of the coin and on the other side the In God we trust is the same way. Has anyone else seen anything like this. I am a complete novice at this so any info you have would be very helpful.
It might be damage from a rolling machine...or it could be a grease filled die...either way it adds no value....but just in case post a photo so we can make sure. Speedy
