Does anyone know if the code S94 is for the 1994 Silver proof set or the 1994 Proof Silver American Eagle?
What are you actually trying to find out ? Or worded another way, what will knowing the answer determine for you ? I ask because there may be another well known way to answer what you really want to know.
I have an unopened box of 5 from the mint and I was trying to find out whats inside without opening it.
To be honest the S94 could mean almost anything. So as suggested a picture may help provide the answer because the size and shape of the box will be helpful. The Proof ASE's boxes were 1 size, the Proof set boxes were another size. But even that still won't be definitive because there were 2 types of silver Proof sets sold in '94, the regular and the premier.
Again, I would expect this to mean that the box contain Silver Proof Sets. The label below came off a box which contain a 1992-S Silver Proof Set that I won for about $6 because the seller only advertised it as a 1992 Proof Set: But then, its an S01 and not an S92 so I have no idea now. But I knew from the label that it was a silver set. I guess we'll need a pitcher.
Click on the link to see an "unopened" box of 5 1994 Silver Premier Proof sets - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Unopened-Se...52?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item4d2196c884 - as you can see, all it has is C S 1994 - on the label. And I've looked up various years of Proof ASE's, and their product numbers vary greatly, some with no S at all in them.
