2012 silver proof set thread included? lol

    Well I certainly wouldn't sell it at the same price of other sets. I doubt any other sets have a similar error and errors on silver proof sets are rare anyways... factoring in the low mintage... this makes this a one of a kind of find to me and unless anyone else comes forward with an error on their set it makes it 1 out of the 300 something thousand made. These things sell for $200-250 right now... 5 or 10 years from now they will probably be worth even more and still this may be the only one of it's kind. The cool thing about this is not only would the damage on the coin be from the mint but you also have the proof packaged and sealed with the coin! That has got to be unique in and of itself imo!

  3. I get your thought process. Rare is good, but like rick from pawn stars said, doesn't necessarily make an item more valuable. I can take a knife and carve a face on one of my silver coins which would make it one of a kind in the world, but not necessarily put more value on it. :drowning:

    True. People pay more for less proof though. You damaging a coin isnt the same as the mint and it bypassing their quality control.
