I'm not familiar with the design, so it's hard for me to say. I don't know how much detail is supposed to be on the hammer, etc. Very interesting coin. If I had to guess, maybe a details grade like vg or f. I noticed a small pothole on one side. What's the story on this coin. Is it Chinese? Did the USSR control china at some point, or Taiwan? I'm quite ignorant here, sorry

There is uncounted variation's of the Soviet Szechauan Shensi, 500 cash coin, say 1930's, say VG-VF $100.00 if you can get it. I would call it F-12

it is a Soviet China copper coin 1934 500 Cash , (Y-512.1) Like the paper bill, copper coins issued by the Central Mint also had "Chinese Soviet Republic" (中華蘇維埃共和國) engraved in traditional Chinese. Since coins last longer than paper bills, these coins were issued (and circulated) in a much greater quantity. However, these coins are rarer than the paper bill; copper was needed for ammunition, and these copper coins were recalled and replaced by silverdollars.

Thanks for the info. Very interesting. Would they be worth more than a few bucks if found in ag or g condition (minor or major problems) in junk boxes? I'm talking about those world coin bins you see sometimes where you can get 2-4 for a dollar.

very unlikely to find something like this , but possible - once i found nice USSR MINT PROOF SET with fool box of world coins for 20$ in coin shop , worth about 100$ , so everything possible .

Yeah definitely. I'll keep my eye out. Once at an antique/flea market this seller had 8 or 9 modern Russian mint sets. I think the dates were the same, can't remember. They had old 2 dollar price stickers on them, and she figured they'd sell for the same I guess. I bought 2 thinking nothing of it. On ebay I got 145 for one, the other 70 or 80 cause some coins were corroded. They were inside those soft cello packs. I went back to her the next month and the rest was gone!

the problem with russian coins is that nobody really collect USSR coins , mint sets where only available for American market or whatever . then USSR Empire gone , most coins where destroyed and remelted , bad condition, etc, people start realizing that there is no coins to collect especially key dates , prices went up so high , for example 1970 set cost 1400-1600$ !!
