why fake a 1974 penny in the late 80s? answer me that? coulda been any year funny its a 1974 where i see others from that year that are jacked up

No, some guy did not make a fake cent. Your coin is not fake. Do you have a vise? Put two coins in the vise and press them tightly together. See what happens.

 

keep in mind they made 1974 pennys in aluminum so there are lots of mess ups in 1974,,,,,,,,

 

So now i have a vice and made it!!!!

The aluminum cent was not a mistake, it was purposely made as an experiment.

You do realize that 1988 wasn't that long ago... really! It's not like the dinosaurs were still roaming and people then, just as now, often would become bored and stick "pennies" into things.. sticking them into vices, smacking with hammers, melting on the stove, etc, etc. Now the thing is that even if not caused by boredom, genuine errors did exist before 88, so why is it so hard to believe that this was intentionally done? I mean, pulling a fast one isn't a recent invention, so unfortunately you need a better argument.
