I went to the bank and they were able to give me thier whole entire box of $1000 40 rolls of 25 coins. I wil most likely sell some of the roll but keep some too....or just use some........anyone know when the next coins comeout......
I tried to spend one today and the guy I know real well told me to "please do not make me take that thing". his cash register had the spot he would have used for 50 cents full of quartes and did not have a place for it. It was kind of funny and sad at the same time. Just think that little slot in the cash register that was orginally intended for the 50 cent piece and is being used for all kind of stuff, may have to be cleaned out now.
Tell your friend that he doesn't have to take anything that he doesn't want too....but then he might not get paid either Speedy
Yeah it is sad. When did people start hoarding halves? I know people used to circulate them. Does anyone know? I need to try to get to my bank and see if they have any Prez dollars. Probably just get a roll, break it open and keep anything neat. Nice going in getting an entire box! Wish I could. Are you looking through the rolls for nice condition coins and errors? Just curious. He is an old friend and his poor head has taken many years of abuse. I feel it is my duty to try and keep him on his toes. I will never get rid of my georges. Their were only 8 rolls available on the day we got some in our area and myself and friends got little over 4 rolls (inside contact). Anyhow think i am going to send them off to some slabbers and get them to certify them as "first day issue in our town" Think that would be so cool.
Yes, that's what my Dad says too- before that they circulated like everything else but people liked Kennedy so much that they just kept them.
Who would want 4o rolls? After the next few weeks you won't be able to give them away. They were meant to circulate so there will eventually be coins out there everywhere. A true collector will just order the mint set for $14.95 and won't have to worry about whether he got stuck with bad coins.:goofer:
At the very least you can exchange some rolls for the next president that comes out. That might drive your bank employees crazy though. Can't loose money unless you give them away. Have fun!
