I recently had only the second batch of coins that I have had sent into CAC come back and this is one that I am very pleased with. Currently NGC has only graded 36 in mint state 67 red and this is the first one that CAC has approved in this grade from either NGC or PCGS. Thanks too a fellow collector for sending it in for me and the pictures
Purrdy! And congrats on being the 1st! Is there a value benefit with being #1, like there would be with a top pop? Or are CAC collectors not yet that ravenous.
I am not sure about added value for being the 1st. Does not hurt being the only one so far though. This one will stay in my collection for now
But was it worth spending the money for grading and then off to CAC? Of course the population of 1946 Lincoln cents is going to be very low since very few people are going to send in such a common date for grading.
Most people don't send coins in to be graded just for the hell of it, so population has nothing to do with it. The scarcity of 67s for the year 1946 has everything to do with it. Search lots of rolls of 1946 Lincolns and see how many 67 candidates you come up with.
