amazingly i found all of these nickles in circulation!! of course the one from the 60's arent that impressive but still ......... if you could grade any of these nickles that would be great!! if you have any old nickles in your collection feel free to post pictures!! enjoy!! bob
they look like the nickels we find in boxes from the banks. i would say fine-very fine if that. there is really nothing spectacular about these coins. thanks for posting anyway! i always love seeing pictures of old nickels!
Believe it or not my young friend, there are very few members who sit by their computers at all times, checking and responding to every new post. Lack of response for 70 minutes is no reason to believe that no one is interested in your thread.
Your finds do illustrate the one redeeming feature of the otherwise-ignored Jefferson nickel series: you can still find many of the older dates in circulation. Last year in change I came across the 1938, and thought it was too cool to find a coin nearly 70 years old and the first year of the series, too. When I was a kid this was one of the first series I tried to complete, but I coudln't find them all, and I finally had to buy the 1939-D and 1950-D from a dealer, just couldn't find them. Then about 15 years ago while at my workplace, out of our company vending machine I got an AU 1950-D nickel!
