It's not. First off, there is no satin finish to your coin. Secondly, there are nicks everywhere. Third, the strike is weak.

Remember, the SMS coins were a special run for the director of the Mint.

Here is a link to an actual SMS 1964 Lincoln Cent from LCR:

Well, they were a special run but whether or not it was for the Mint Director is undocumented speculation.

Does anybody remember the August 5th, 2013 edition of Coin World where Researcher Jeff Garrett discovered a whole series of Modern coins produced with a special finish specifically for the NNC at the Smithsonian? It's quite a read.

Dates range from 1958 to 1978 which would encompass the 1964 SMS coins.

I voted yes the back of the coin there is strike marks that you can compare to the real sms I couldn't see the back but there looked to be a strike mark in front of the face that looks similar the best way would be to get it graded but Google and check the strike marks on the back

You've now bumped this thread twice.... for that?

It was a simple typo, and one that shouldn't be hard to figure out.

Lovely. Response to years old threads is much frowned upon (unless they contain educational, savy). More importantly, start a new one. Welcome to the forum........

Thanks for the warm welcome Green and Books. I am not really into coins but I got curious about the 1964 SMS penny. I found one and I welcome any comment about the one I posted on this thread.

You have found a 1964 cent (they made 2.6 billion of them), not a 1964 SMS cent.
