I see those sets we all went nuts over last year are still holding there value. $150 + on E Bay. Glad I got my set when i did.
I see it more as $130+ $137.75 $140.15 $136.00 $137.50 I would say that a person shouldn't expect less than about $140 Selling it on eBay today. ( A person should never assume the value of what they have based on the highest price paid at the moment, I base my opinion off of what is the least I can expect for something in my collection. )
Let's see where it is in about ten years. It often takes that long for Mint products to settle down to their true value.
Yes, I sold mine for a small profit! I think I got $155 for it! I saw one yesterday on ebay still in the US Mint box!
With the popularity of Lincoln and the fact that only 50,000 sets were made, I believe this one will hold its value.
I hope they stay above $140 but I think they will drop in value with time. I have two sets (one opened and the other in the box sent from the mint). I wonder if the box will add a couple of dollars to the value in the end.
Recently at a local show a dealer had a few sets prices at $175. Didn't see any great rush to buy them.
Haven't look, what are they selling on eBay for? I bought one when the first came out. Never regretted.
They are 4 proof cents and a proof silver dollar? I never heard of the set, and when I saw it I thought it was a whole lot of fancy packaging. The coins are not unique to the set though, right?
That was the set I bought. 50,000 minted, paid $75 or something like that in 09. Came from the mint like that.
Yes on being proofs and yes a lot of fancy packaging but in this case the packaging is worth as much as the coins. Most these are selling for around 90 bucks or so on the bay and you could buy the individual coins for less than 50 bucks. It's still a nice set though in my opinion. I bought one from the mint when they came out. I like it. As to future value, it's anyones guess.
I'm quite surprised that they held value over and above the issue price. But then, I was surprised to hear about some Kennedy Gold Half Dollar selling for $100,000 so I guess, I shouldn't really be surprised.
They are still above issue price but not by a large margin. Sold for $75 and seem to be fairly available in the $85 to $90 range. Still above issue but well down for the $150 they were selling for when this thread started. And I would not be surprised if they continue to decline in the future.
