The doubling of the date and mint mark, being flat and shelf like means it's machine doubling and not a true doubled die.
The numerals and mintmark do not look dimished to my eye. Where then did the metal come from for the shelf? I think it's a poor man's DDO- an abraided die or die deterioration.
